Awaken me by Emily Gossett

"After witnessing the horrific murder that was committed by her fianc just days before their wedding, Aimee immediately flees from the life she knows. Lost in Greece, Aimee is inevitably and uncontrollably thrust into a supernatural world where she is terrified to learn what she really is. Crouching at every corner lies a new confusing memory that torments her from her previous life, while her feelings of love cease to die, but awaken more deeply for the mysteriously handsome stranger, who wants to rescue her. Battling the man, who she mistakenly still loves is a bigger conquest than imagined, but can she free her captured thoughts from the man who owns her? Facing the ultimate decision, to lose all humanity by becoming the weapon the Rogues desire most, or to destroy the creation of love. Can Aimee make the sacrifices needed to overcome deceit, love and her power that is irrepressibly blood thirsty?"

5 stars out of 5 stars

At first I was thinking what in the world is she thinking about this cover. Then I read the book and I kept thinking about the eye over and over again.

Aimee is what you can say free spoken and gets what she wants. I definitely knew she was an only child by seeing her character in motion. There is a semi love triangle in this and I have to say even though I sometimes don't enjoy them in then end I always am excited by them. Especially if they pick the one I want;)

The vampires and werewolves in this were quite different then the last few books I read but all the more enticing for my never ending curiosity into the unknown paranormal world. Over all this story had me dreaming of how the men looked and how of course if I was the main character how I would have done it. Which would probably be similar. I love her taste in clothes and places, well except Florida I need cold places LOL.

I look forward to reading the next book of this series to find out what happens next.

The Body Finder series by Kimberly Derting

The Body Finder is a must read before reading this series.

"Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world... and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer... and becoming his prey herself."

This book got a 5 out of 5 stars

When I first saw this book I loved the cover because of the contrast between the blue flower and black background. Then I flipped the book over in Barnes and Noble and read the back. It intrigued me to the point I bought both books at the same time.

I loved how the author switched back between two people Violet and the killer. It was intriguing to see what they both were thinking so much that I immersed myself into the book till I finished it.
This book got a 5 star mainly because I could not put this book down and the serial killer mystery was amazing. It was hard to know who was the killer and the mystery intrigued me more.

The only thing I dislike of the book is Jay Heaton. This is for personal reasons. I feel that best friends and first lovers never truly work out especially in this time of day. I also felt she could do better then him and just keep him in the friend zone. This however could not dissuade me from giving it a 5 star rating because I still enjoyed the mystery that made me read this book not once but three times. I also bought it for my mom and made her read it so I could have someone to discuss it with.

This author is truly amazing and she is on my bookshelf for keeps! Please check her out.

                                                                                      Desires of the Dead

"Violet can sense the echoes of those who've been murdered—and the matching imprint that clings to their killers. Only those closest to her know what she is capable of, but when she discovers the body of a young boy she also draws the attention of the FBI, threatening her entire way of life.

As Violet works to keep her morbid ability a secret, she unwittingly becomes the object of a dangerous obsession. Normally she'd turn to her best friend, Jay, except now that they are officially a couple, the rules of their relationship seem to have changed. And with Jay spending more and more time with his new friend Mike, Violet is left with too much time on her hands as she wonders where things went wrong. But when she fills the void by digging into Mike's tragic family history, she stumbles upon a dark truth that could put everyone in danger."

I gave this book a 5 out of 5 rating

A new character is introduced and his name is Rafe and I have to say I am Team Rafe!!

The cover was beautiful and went so well with the book. Trust me when you read it you will understand;-)

The plot was great and we still got to see both sides of view, one from the maybe killer and one from Violet. The book had me at the first page and I did not put it down until the last page was read. This book kept me hooked to the point I dreamt about it. When the FBI gets involved I can't help but think of the tv series Bones. This book brings strong emotions into play and I did cry a few times. I feel for Violet especially with this ability to find the dead. You really feel her horror and obsession. The author has become one of my favorite authors because of this series.

For team Rafe fans I suggest you read the anthology Enthralled. (Great side story)

Books to read

After witnessing the horrific murder that was committed by her fianc just days before their wedding, Aimee immediately flees from the life she knows. Can Aimee make the sacrifices needed to overcome deceit, love and her power that is irrepressibly blood thirsty?
Jennifer Adams, best friend to Jacque Pierce and Sally Morgan, spicy, out spoken, a little crazy and human...or so she thought. Jen has just found out that human DNA is not the only thing that resides in her veins, she happens to share that little pesky werewolf gene, although it isn't more than just a drop. Now that she and her friends are living in Romania with Fane's pack, she is also oh so conveniently stuck with the object of her affection, the fur ball Decebel.

Drawn to each other by something they don't understand Jen finds herself frustrated by the lack of mating signs between her and said fur ball. Not only is she dealing with that not so un-frustrating problem, she now has been informed that because of that little drop of werewolf blood in her she is now required to attended a multi-pack gathering for un-mated wolves. This type of gathering hasn't taken place in over a century but with a shortage of females among the werewolf population the males are getting worried they won't ever find their true mates.

Meanwhile Decebel struggles with the emotions he is feeling towards Jen. He tries to keep his distance but there is just something about the mouthy blonde that keeps him coming back for more of her verbal abuse that he just can't seem to get enough of...go figure.
Darkness has descended on the Transylvanian Alps.
Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf's assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.

Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form...

Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that's been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years.

Blood Rites By Quinn Loftis

"With the challenge complete and the corrupt Alpha of Coldspring defeated Fane is now free to complete the mate bond with Jacque and perform the Blood Rites. Although the challenge is done, the affects are far reaching. Once it is known that Vasile, one of the strongest Alphas in the world is in America, specifically Coldspring, TX, there is one Alpha who cannot over look the significance of this. An Alpha who happens to share Jacque's DNA, but is this the one she needs to fear?

With her mom driving and her two best friends, Jen and Sally in tow, Jacque sets off for her happily ever after. She will soon realize a plan has been put in motion that will change her course and possibly tear her from Fane's grasp forever. It will take a wolf pack, her mother's love, her two best friend's unrelenting determination, her own will to survive and the undying love of her mate to bring her home. The question remains, if she fights, if she endures, who will she be, what will be left once she is back in her mates arms?"

5 out of 5 stars

Again this book blew my mind. I guess I am addicted to possessive werewolves. Though I believe that Jen reminds me more of myself and I keep picturing my husband as Decebel. This book was amazing it is 5:30 am and I have not slept yet. This book left me with a wonderful cliff hanger of hope and then I realized I had to move on to the next book.

I don't want to spoil this for readers but the characters just get better and better. My favorite of course is Jen and Decebel. This book is amazing and my butt is so tired from sitting in one spot for so long I might need to go for a run or a cold shower. The romance in this book was exhilarating. Sexual tension was on fire!  Every page I read I could feel myself unable to stop till I was satisfied. It took the whole book to satisfy my cravings and I still want more. Thankfully I have more books left in this series and let me tell you guys I will be reading till I can't stay up any longer.

I'd like to thank the author for writing an awesome book and now getting me hooked on biting. Hahaha. Just kidding;)

Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis

"Jaque Pierce was just an ordinary 17 year old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer was going to get a lot more interesting. From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul. The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?"

My rating for this book is a 5 out of 5

I loved this book so much that I stayed up till 3 am  just  to finish this book. Thankfully I bought the rest of the series but man it will be a tough week for my eyes;)
I understand some reviews mentioned errors but in all honesty you can have two editors look through your manuscript and still have errors. We are all human and no one is perfect even grammar crazies! Lol.
I loved Fane, I think better then Edward from twilight. I believe this book would be great for motion picture and can't wait to read the next book.

Now here is my official review of this book. Jacque is a unique character. Her friend Jen is especially unique and if you don't like girl talk don't bother reading this book. This book screams best friends forever. They share everything together. Something I wish I could achieve with my closest friends.

Then there is Fane. Where do I start, oh I know the fact that I adored his obsession over Jacque. The author knows animals especially the canines. Fane is a mix between the dog who is loyal to the end and a sexy GQ model. I at first felt wow they are moving quite fast but then I realized how true to the animal instinct she was. Every dog I have adopted I felt a bond to at first site and they to me. It's amazing how animals are and the author shows she knows what she is talking about.

Then the author put me in suspense a couple of times, hence why I did not put the book down till I finished it. Even leaving me for wanting more once the book was finished meaning I bought the entire grey wolves series.

The characters were good and I feel the next book will expand more on the characters I enjoyed. Now I never base my ratings on the grammar as I have stated above because what really matters is did the book captivate me and the answer to that is yes.

The book got a 5 star rating because I could not put it down and skipped sleep for one day. I only do this with books that truly captivate me. I plan on reading the rest of the series this week and I highly suggest this book to anyone who loves wolves, romance, paranormal, girlfriend bonds and sexy men. (What can I say I have a great imagination. )

Graveminder by Melissa Marr

Three sips to mind the dead . . .

Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the attention her grandmother Maylene bestowed upon the dead of Claysville, the small town where Bek spent her adolescence. There wasn't a funeral that Maylene didn't attend, and at each one Rebekkah watched as Maylene performed the same unusual ritual: She took three sips from a silver flask and spoke the words "Sleep well, and stay where I put you."

Now Maylene is dead, and Bek must go back to the place she left a decade earlier. She soon discovers that Claysville is not just the sleepy town she remembers, and that Maylene had good reason for her odd traditions. It turns out that in Claysville the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected; beneath the town lies a shadowy, lawless land ruled by the enigmatic Charles, aka Mr. D. If the dead are not properly cared for, they will come back to satiate themselves with food, drink, and stories from the land of the living. Only the Graveminder, by tradition a Barrow woman, and her Undertaker—in this case Byron Montgomery, with whom Bek shares a complicated past—can set things right once the dead begin to walk.

Although she is still grieving for Maylene, Rebekkah will soon find that she has more than a funeral to attend to in Claysville, and that what awaits her may be far worse: dark secrets, a centuries-old bargain, a romance that still haunts her, and a frightening new responsibility—to stop a monster and put the dead to rest where they belong.

5 STARS

This book was amazing. I bought a copy for my friend just so I could have debates on it. There is so much I want to learn more of from this book. Rebekkah Barrow definitely has her issues but it didn't stop me from reading this book. Charles, aka Mr. D. is amazing there is so much I want to know about him. I also wish that I could find out more about Maylene's past and also the first barrow woman and her undertaker. Without giving spoilers I hope she makes a prequel or sequel!

The First Confessor by Terry Goodkind

In the time before the Confessors, when the world is a dark and dangerous place, where treason and treachery are the rule of the day, comes one heroic woman, Magda Searus, who has just lost her husband and her way in life.

This book was amazing. Before I recommend this book to anyone, I would like to tell you that this is a prequel. The book I would suggest reading first before this book is Wizards First Rule. Both of these books were amazing and constant page turners for me. Terry Goodkind is one of my idols and I have enjoyed many of his books but this one was amazing. All the questions I had from his Sword of Truth series were answered. I could not put this book down to the point I lost many hours of sleep. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Terry Goodkind. It was truly amazing for me.
